What to Expect from your Newborn Photo Session

A newborn photoshoot is a special opportunity to capture the precious moments of your baby's early days. Here's what you can generally expect from your custom newborn photography session:

 

 

  • Preparation: We will discuss your custom photoshoot during a consultation call. Specific instructions will be discussed at that time but may include things like bringing extra snacks for siblings or timing a photo session around your newborn's sleepiest times. We will try to plan for the convenience of your family's schedule.

 

  • Studio or Home Setup: The photo session can take place either in a professional photography studio or in the comfort of your own home. Both options have their advantages, so let's talk and decide what works best for you.

 

  • Props and Accessories: I have a beautiful collection of props, wraps, blankets, and other accessories to create beautiful setups. These items are used to enhance the overall aesthetic of the photos. I am also open to using items that are sentimental to your family as well.

 

  • Poses: With your baby's safety in mind, I will gently pose your baby in various positions, focusing on taking pictures their delicate features and showcasing their tiny size. Common poses for these pictures include curled up, on their back, or nestled in props like baskets or bowls.

 

  • Safety: Safety is the most important aspect of my newborn photography sessions. Professional newborn photographers are experienced in handling baby's with care and will ensure that your baby is always supported and secure during posing.

 

  • Feeding and Soothing: Newborn babies may need to be fed or soothed during the session to keep them calm and comfortable. Be prepared to nurse or bottle-feed your baby as needed.
